My art represents my personal interests: texture, nature, and rural scenery. My method, computer technology, allows me to present digitally layered views of my chosen subjects in almost infinite combinations of color variations, transparencies, and patterns. Along with my original photographs and scans, I incorporate a linen texture to suggest a fabric surface. Machine stitching with a gold thread finishes my works.

I hope that the resulting effect will be both symbolic and visually interesting. The woven imagery represents an outdoor walk, where emphasis is shifted from close-up finds to distant views. My mixing of photographs, fabric textures, and stitching makes my work a unique and personal statement that is a step removed from straightforward photography. I refer to my medium as "digital imagery".

The Appalachians are my home; my goal is to create art that conveys an appreciation of the beautiful vistas that I find there, as well as the rich history and weaving tradition of the area.
