Raleigh Chamber Music Guild


Raleigh Chamber Music Guild and North Carolina Museum of Art seek professional North Carolina-based chamber music ensembles for Sights and Sounds on Sundays, innovative and popular chamber music series established in 1999. Six concerts from July 2010-June 2011. They will be held at the 272-seat auditorium at the NC Museum of Art, 2110 Blue Ridge Road, Raleigh, on Sundays at 3 pm. 
The programs complement, are inspired by, or show connections to works in NC Museum of Art visiting exhibitions or permanent collection. Go to www.ncartsmuseum.org to see exhibition schedule. A sculpture garden, including works by Rodin, Plenza and others, will be a major permanent installation. Details are not yet available, but programs relating to these artists are welcome. In lieu of written program notes, please prepare verbal notes relating music to visual art. Length: Maximum of 60-70 minutes, including verbal program notes; no intermission. Film Independent’s 2010 Directors Lab


Film Independent’s 2010 Directors Lab, Los Angeles, is designed to help directors who are prepping their feature films, the Directors Lab is an intensive eight-week program running in Los Angeles each winter in which Lab Fellows workshop scenes from their features. Film Independent provides Lab Fellows with camera and sound packages to shoot their scenes. Additionally, Fellows receive mentorship from established directors and other industry professionals. Exhibition of Orthopedic Advancements in Art


An Exhibition of Orthopedic Advancements in Art is open to artists in three categories: military personnel and their families, orthopaedic surgeons and injured civilians or other artists. Pandora’s Box


Pandora’s Box juried exhibition is an exhibition requiring artists to create work based on the theme of “Pandora’s Box” - the vessel carried by the Greek mythological character, Pandora. The submitted work must be based on a container form and the maximum dimension of the container cannot exceed 12 inches in any one direction. The work inside the container may exceed 12 inches. 5th NC Juried ClayArts Show


Carolina Artist Studio Gallery and the Arts Council of Carteret County present the 5th N.C. Juried ClayArts Show during the month of November. The ClayArts show is open to all ceramists and potters ages 18 and older residing in N.C. All work must be original, wheel thrown, hand built, slab rolled or sculptural. Cash prizes will be awarded. The City of Bowie, MD, is seeking artists for two public art projects: a kinetic sculpture ($80,000) and a large working sundial ($100,000). Artists nationwide may apply for one or both projects. Works for Charles Houston Recreation Center


The City of Alexandria, VA, seeks to commission public art for the Charles Houston Recreation Center. The call is open to all artists or design groups. The purpose of the public art project is to honor and memorialize Charles Hamilton Houston and to recognize the historical importance of the former Parker-Gray High School to the community, which surrounds the Center. The Bellwether Prize for Unpublished Manuscripts


The Bellwether Prize for Unpublished Manuscripts supports the writing and publication of serious literary fiction addressing issues of social justice in culture and human relations, underlining the political power of literature. In addition to the $25,000 cash prize, the award guarantees publication of the winning novel by a major U.S. publishing house. The publishing partner for the 2009–2010 prize is Algonquin. 13th Annual Tybee Arts Festival


Aug 31. NATIONAL CALL FOR ARTISTS FOR THE 13TH ANNUAL TYBEE ARTS FESTIVAL. Festival is Oct 17 10-8pm and 18th 10-6pm, on the beautiful beach of Tybee Island, GA. Seeking all types of 2D and 3D fine art entries for a Juried Arts Festival. Each accepted artist will have a secure 10′x10′ space. $4000 in prize money will be awarded. Eligible artists are 18 or older and reside in the United States. Submissions will include, a CD with 3 jpg images of recent work and 1 jpg image of your display set up, cover letter and completed application. All work must reflect a substantial creative input by the artist no work made from kits or commercial molds will be allowed. Application fee is $20.
