NOT TO BE TOYED WITH

Exploring the Art of the Doll

AUGUST 25 – SEPTEMBER 2

reception : Saturday, September 1,  5 to 7 pm

Not to be Toyed With seeks to transport the viewer beyond the realm of seeing dolls as playthings for children to having them understand how a figurative piece created with the vision and skill of a talented maker transforms into a work of art.

Created by GoFigure, a mixed media figurative group of 30 regional doll makers. Their purpose is to enhance the appreciation of figurative art and to improve their own skills as artists in a group setting.

To complement the exhibition, three education presentations will be offered to the public. Please below for more information. Also, four workshops are scheduled throughout the exhibition time in the second floor classroom.
