Scholarship for the Arts Application Deadline

Toe River Arts announces the availability of art scholarships each spring. Awards are given to a graduating high school senior or an adult continuing their education and are from Yancey or Mitchell County and pursuing a higher education degree majoring in any of the arts or arts education. The application deadline is May 1. Each scholarship will be in an amount between $250 and $1,000 are usually paid directly to the degree-based institution of the applicant’s attendance. 2021 Exhibit Proposals Due by 5pm

Toe River Arts has a large exhibit space in the Spruce Pine Facility, 269 Oak Avenue. Throughout the year we offer five annual exhibits; two Studio Tour Preview exhibits, the Annual Blacksmith exhibit, the Student Showcase and our Annual Juried exhibit. Artist Support Grant Applications Due at 4:30PM

The Artist Support Grant was created to provide direct support to individual artists during and following the COVID-19 pandemic. The initiative will fund professional and artistic development for emerging and established artists to enhance their skills and abilities to create work or to improve their business operations and capacity to bring their work to new audiences. Artists representing visual, craft, performing, traditional, and interdisciplinary art forms are encouraged to apply. Find more information here.

2022 Gift Shop Submissions

Apply to have your work reviewed for both Toe River Arts Gift Shops! Open to Toe River Arts members living in Mitchell, Yancey, and Avery counties. Submit up to three pieces for review for one or both Toe River Arts galleries. Work must be original, handmade, professional, ready for display, and sellable in the Toe River Arts venue. Call to Blacksmiths

Toe River Arts will host their Annual Blacksmith Exhibit on April 2nd through April 30th, the day of Fire on the Mountain Festival. 2023 Exhibition Proposals

Propose an exhibition for the Spruce Pine gallery for 2023! We feature both local and nationally recognized artists in our exhibition spaces.
