Gaylene Petcu

Gaylene Petcu moved to Western North Carolina in 2007. After working in the Midwest as an illustrator for twenty-six years, her transition to painting mountain landscapes and flowers was a welcome change. “The Blue Ridge Mountains have held me spellbound since my visits as a child. How gratifying it is to be able to live and paint here. Extraordinary views of remote high ridges and small farms tucked into valleys provide the creative spark for my landscape paintings. Challenged by the ever-changing light, weather and seasons, I find great reward in expressing the quiet peace I feel in these ancient mountains.” — Gaylene Petcu
